Re: [vpFREE] Digest Number 8532

Indeed, one has to remember that the slightly increased overall return on STP depends on getting a normal frequency of hands and a normal frequency of the multipliers -- and this includes the need to hit a royal on all lines with a maximum multiplier with the normal, albeit rare, frequency.  This is why the variance at STP is so high -- it is a game where the long term can be really really long, and therefore, the element of chance becomes more significant than in games with less variance.  Very high variance means a requirement for a very high bankroll and lots of time to put in at the game, to get enough hands to receive all the good ones, including with multipliers, as often as expected.

I also don't usually play STP (which is the same as playing it without the 6th coin wager), simply because the variance is too expensive for my bankroll.

I've had less than subpar luck with limited STP play and, for the time being, have come to avoid the 6th coin wager.

When the 1 in 15 occurrence of the STP multiplier fails to connect with a good paying hand over an extended run (without even contemplating your sour run), it gets to be an expensive game.  Of course, all it takes is one strong connection to compensate for an ugly session; and a couple to produce a handsome win -- something that fans of the game savor.
