Their only redeeming quality is that they really push to get you off and on the plane quickly to get an on time departure. Since few people are carrying on rollers they board quickly and since their planes are filthy and rarely cleaned they start boarding as soon as the last person is off the plane.
As others have stated, they charge for everything: carry on bags, checked bags, seats, printing your boarding pass at the airport, nuts, drinks and pay toilets coming soon.
With that said, sometimes the price difference was so significant that I flew spirit. If your bag is 16"X12"X14" you can carry it on without paying a fee. If you print your boarding pass at home shortly after the 24 hour time limit you will almost always get a window or isle seat for 'free' and save the $5 for printing the boarding pass at the airport. Bring your own nuts.

Subject: [vpFREE] Flights from Los Angeles to Las Vegas?
having never flown the route before, i'm unfamiliar with which airlines are best bet (price and reliability). spirit's prices are ridiculously low. but what's the catch? never on time? no pre-seating? any advice would be appreciated. thanks.
