The thing I believe is that all casinos will have to go smoke free before it could make a major difference. Yes, many gamblers do seem to like to smoke - however - poker rooms are certainly full and these days they are always nonsmoking. Players just go outside when they want to smoke. Or they play with an unlit cigarette hanging out of their mouth. But they still come to play poker.
I have to say I wish they would make casinos smoke free - no offense to those who enjoy their cigarettes in there, but everyone knows now how harmful it is and not just to those who are smoking. That's the part that surprises me, that things haven't changed for that reason.
But I do think nonsmoking casinos will lose smoking customers if there's a place they can go right down the street where they can smoke.
It will be interesting to see if the Revel can make it work.
