I like St. Louis. I live in the Chicago suburbs and I think it is a nice getaway
city. You might think that Harrahs is in the heart of St. Louis on the
Mississippi River, but it is on the Missouri River in the northwest suburbs. So
if you fly in and want to leave the casino you will need to rent a car. The
rooms are fine, there is decent VP, they have smoking/non-smoking sections, they
are friendly and I like that they will comp you meals if you ask at the Total
Rewards desk. The Diamond lounge is different than most. You can order
sandwiches or they have a meal selected for the day. You have to pay for drinks.
Not as nice as AC but better than most.
I recommend going to the free and spectacular zoo (you pay to park in the
adjacent parking lot, but if you can walk, there is parking on the streets in
the area), taking in a baseball game, checking out the Jefferson National
Expansion Memorial (the arch) and go on a free Budweiser Brewery Tour.
One more little tip for Diamond players...I found out that you can sometimes get
a newspaper either from the VIP check-in desk or like St. Louis, if you ask the
bell desk, they will deliver one to your room for free. Seven Stars are
automatic, Diamonds just need to ask.
They also have dueling pianos on weekends which you can watch from the Diamond
Lounge.
I hope you go and have some luck...and remember..it gets very hot and humid in
the summer.

Just received an offer from Harrah's St. Louis -- free airfare plus up to five
nights plus a "free cruise" certificate on Norwegian good until June 2012.
Would appreciate any feedback on how good this offer is...how nice is harrah's
St. Louis? How easy is it to use the cruise certificate, etc. -- we've never
cruised before, so any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
