Subject: [vpFREE] Re: Variety is the Spice....
A question on relieving boredom, Cool!
Well I find all things casino gaming related, dull as dirt. No, I take that back. I used to like to play in the dirt.
Gambling is a way to make money. If you aren't making money doing it, it is a waste of time AND money. If you are making money at it, then you can spend that money on something fun.
Here's what I do:
1. Play D&D
2. Square Dance
3. Sword Fight
4. Read a lot of science magazines.
5. Cook my own gourmet Indian Food from scratch
6. Watch a lot of science shows.
7. Pet my cat (Bocu De Chat)
8. Post on vpFREE (which is fun most of the time)
9. Hiking / camping
10. Dinning out at new restaurants
11. Writing comedy for my radio show
12. Reading novels
13. Petting my other cat (Fukui San)
Anyway...if you are bored, you should not gamble to fill the dead time. I can't advocate doing something addictive, pointless and costly as a time filler.
I only advocate professional gambling as a way to make money, either as a career or a second job. "JOB" is the key word here. You work your job, so you can spend your free time doing something fun.
Every book I have read on the subject, suggests that if you enjoy gambling and find it fun, it is the signs of a potential gambling addiction issues. (THIS IS NOT MY OPINION--IT'S SOMETHING I READ)
Please read the book "Best Possible Odds" if you disagree.
