What do you think about 2DB as a catch up game then?
At $1 level?
RF = 4K
2222A = 2K
2222X = 1K
5 Aces = $800
5 3 thru 5 = $250
5 6 thru K = $100
WRF = $125
SF = $45 - $60 (game about 98.5 at $45, about 99.5 at $60)
4K = $20
Flush = $10
Straight or 3K = $5
This game is on multistrike, have seen both paytables on it.
The problem I c though with this chasing is that except for Robert Singer it doesn't always work. I am happy for your spell of good luck -please pass it on!
BTW this game is available at $2 at the Orleans even up to $25 -I am not suggesting it's play, just an observation.

I've had some good luck recently, the latest of which was my largest VP
jackpot to date. I'll warn you ahead of time--read no further if my
extremely good fortune might encourage you into bad habits. In other words,
don't copy me unless you know for sure you'll win. ;-)
After a brutal beating of an $800 loss playing $1 DDB, I was about ready to
call it a day. However, I decided I'd take a crapshoot at $2 Triple Double
Bonus with a couple final bills and hope to get a lucky quad and quickly
recoup some losses. I FULLY EXPECTED TO COME OUT EMPTY HANDED and I KNEW
THE ODDS WERE AGAINST ME, but ended up holding a single Ace and drawing a 4,
followed by 3 more Aces!! JACKPOT MUSIC!! $8000 felt pretty good.

A couple of comments. You didn't say how much $1 double double bonus you played. If you don't hit the kicker hands or better you will lose about 7.14% on average. A 15% loss in an hour or 2 of play will happen more than you think.
I also took a look at your TDB hit. It was the 9/5 version with a 97% return and variance of 100.? At the $2 level, each hand costs you $0.30 to play. Plus your aces w/kicker holding an ace is in the 1 in 20,000 range. I agree it was lucky but I'm not sure knew how expensive the play really is.
