Nope. He's still alive. (or at least Google thinks so too.) He's an
amazing man, actually. I strongly recommend the book "Fortune's Formula"
by William Poundstone, relatively light reading which talks about the
relationship between gambling and investing. Thorp figures prominently
in this book.
