There must have been alot of drawing ticket abuse/advantage play back then at
the Riverside. At least through January 1999 they handed them out for
eating, sleeping and maybe for breathing, along with gambling. I checked-in and got
two tickets, one pink and one blue for the daily drawings to elect the King
and Queen. They did those week at a time themes back then, that ran through
Mardi-Gras, like German, French, Italian week.
I got my two tickets in the drum just in time, one for me and one for the gal
I brought on a still novice adventure. Lots of tickets, I remember for a
daily drawing. I won the $500 and dinner in the Prime Rib Room with the one
ticket!
The Riverside tuned-up the way tickets for drawings were distrubuted a few
years ago. You now earn them for gambling only and have to go through the slot
club boothlings to collect them. The tickets have serial numbers now and get
recorded against your number. A limit of 50/day which usually is $25k in VP
action.
I guess there still would be avenues for abuse, but finding tickets on
machines should not be one of them.
FYI, Current January promo is the give $2008 away each day (4x $502), plus
the COD (8's) for up to $125.
