Re: [vpFREE] downtown grand

So are you saying that you can earn comps but not points? That will certainly excite the locals .This is a good example of why this property does not deserve to stay in business,  they have no idea of what they are doing. Their left hand doesn't talk to the right hand.

I for one would not be interested in staying somewhere where I can't earn cashback or other things like free play or match plays. They just aren't competitive and if you like a host there you may not want to wait until  September to go, because that would make your host an extreme outlier in the survival game at the DTG. I have never in my many many years of going to casinos seen or heard of a property with host turnover like the DTG, when I was going there I never had the same host twice, and I am a frequent visitor to Las Vegas.Any establishment that has that much trouble retaining staff has got to be doing something either very wrong or at the least very unusual. I'd like to own the company that supplies their business cards.

A.P. this is a text message I got from my new host since they change often....Most video poker you will earn points on. :) room offers and comps will be based on the casino play itself not point values.... He was bummed wife booked Caesars comped over Labor Day wknd after we saw no points and told him maybe next time we stay. Ill stop by there Labor Day and talk to a higher up in host dept.

They were thinking it would draw a lot of players, and a lot of attention, which it did.

So what do they have now ?

They still have a lot of fairly good machines that people would probably play, but with no slot club benefits there is no draw for serious players, because other places with benefits are better to a players' bottom line. It would still be a good place to play if you have some time to kill and don't want to short play on one of your "A" list casinos, but for anything other than that they are not worth it.

It still amazes me that this casino does well and is in fact planning an expansion. Aside from getting a flurry of attention for a little while from the VP community, they are now in worse shape than they were before when they were at least competitive with other casinos. They do not deserve to remain in business.

I don't get it. Why would any slot director put in $1 ,$2 full pay dueces when I don't think any casino has that pay schedule for more then quarters.
What were they thinking?..
