Have delayed posting my issues since me return a month ago, during 2.0 transition period. Now a month later, it's obvious Boyd has heard our complaints and done nothing, it's time to chat.
Like others, my tier score has been decimated. Over 250k has gone through Boyd vp machines this year. Instead of requalifying Emerald, I will make Sapphire at a tad over 3,000 points. Most interesting part of my trip was the 500$ in free play being locked up because of Aliante's computer issues. (Point multiplier day was messed up they manually added the points, but it locked my earned cash back up until three days after I left—thank goodness for Rosalie V. at Gold Coast for helping me out). Two royals in a week helped out, so I'm ahead at Gold Coast, but about even company wide). Managed to hit 11x multiplier for 9 days straight, so even under new system got about $600 cash back, would have been double under the system a week before.
So now the repercussions set in. My friend who played keno, was there for 9 days total (compared to 30 for me) has double tier points and better offers going forward (dec 21 shopping spree—I got 50$ free play, he got $150), which is contradictory to what I was told (that coin in, not theoretical, would be used to base offers on). (Anectdotally, I play TB+, best $1 game in house, and 200$ coin in seems to earn a tier point, which, given what I've read, makes perfect sense).
So the writing on the wall is complete. If I was a Boyd shareholder (I am not), would be pleased with improvements, since a lot of people I've talked to don't seem to know about the changes, or even care.
But it looks like I won't be returning, of course. Better alternatives are there, and have already been discussed.
Anyhow it appears Boyd has gotten rid of a lot of unprofitable (or not as profitable as other) players. Good luck to them.
Buh Bye Boyd.
