I was recently in Las Vegas meeting up with a friend and staying at Gold Coast. He had a Ruby Card and I have a Sapphire. He had 20,000+ points under the old system and wanted to get to 25,000 to get to Sapphire Card Level. I had a card score of 48,000. Well, after the conversion, he had 850 points and upgraded to Sapphire which will be good all the way thru 2019. My score conversion was to 499 and my Sapphire status is good until the end of the year unless I can get to 750 points. Didn't make a lot of sense to me so I went to try to get clarification at Card Center.
I was told that are several factors that needed to be considered when points are converted over, ie Type of game, slots vs VP, and what VP games are played, denomination, length of play and on and on.
In any event, it's very complicated and new system is not going to be catered to VP player, especially those who play better games. So in all likelihood, we'll be looking for greener pastures, wherever that may be.
So where's everyone else headed??
