Was I interested and could I help spread the word among other big players?"

Bartenders and managers can't tell if you're winning or not, they just see you as another degenerate gambler and/or alcoholic or tweaker and they'd sure like to siphon off some of your action without risking any of their own money of course. Sure, they might see you hitting jackpots, but anyone who as tried some serious gambling (I'm not talking about penny or nickel slots which cost the casinos more than they generate) knows that in the long run it usually cost more to get those jackpots then you get out. Casinos are built by gamblers who hit lots of jackpots, that's yet another reason why it's so stupid for casinos to exclude players just for hitting a jackpot, or winning today, or winning this month, or even winning this year. Unless you know a thing or two about gambling, it may seem contradictory to want a casino full of players hitting lots of jackpots, but the reality is that those are the happy casinos, those are the casinos raking in the dough. As long as the total casino is bringing in the money, the more "jackpot winners" the casino has, the better the business.
