I don't see how 3 line spin poker is any different than regular 3 play. Just as single line spin poker is the same as single line regular poker. The co-variance is the same. The 3 lines do not overlap and any held card is held in all 3 hands.
In 5 play spin poker there are now 2 more lines that are part of the other 3 lines so yes the variance is now lower than regular 5 play. After the initial deal and hold certain positions are more inportant because they affect more than one line.
