Personally, I've never tipped a host. Though to be fair, I've never had all that much host interface that led to anything besides the run of the mill offers and such.
Hosts typically make a percentage of you loss or action. Especially these days, they have next to zero discretion about what or how much to give. If you think your host is doing you some kind of "extra" service, I'd say the host is a guy you've been banging or you are confused.
