I have had this promotion explained to me by the Palms slot club in the following manner. If you get a 2x multiplier you can earn 20,000 points and get 20,000 points added which totals the 40,000 adjusted points. In the case of a 3x multiplier, only the first 13,333 points you earn will be adjusted, which adds 26,666 points. In my case this did turn out to be the final result. I did argue with them that in years past it was different but they disagreed.
Unfortunately, it is their interpretation of the rules that matter.
