According to vpFREE this is the definition of advantage player... 18. What is an "advantage" VP player? - A serious, knowledgeable player who restricts their video poker play to positive situations where the machine's EV plus casino promotions, combined with optimal play, provides a mathematical advantage. Perhaps a better definition of many of the members of this forum would be an educated player. Of course even with the official definition there can be differences, such as how much value do you personally attribute to the free rooms and comps that you get. What could be an advantage play to an out of towner, might not be to a local and vice versa. The thing is there are certainly a lot more educated players around now than there were pre-internet. A lot of forum members talk the talk but don't walk the walk!!!!!!! Not to judge other players on forums – most just want to "do better" than the unknowledgeable player or want to "do as best as they can" in this difficult time of finding 100%+ plays - and those are good goals – but these aren't the goals of a "purely advantage player." And those "friends and family" who are connected to the players who "belong" to an online VP forum – very very few are "advantage players" – or they would join the forum themselves.
