As always, the answer to this question depends on if you will have a car. Your question implies that you won't have a car so let's go that way. There is no decent $.25 vp on the Strip. (Well, Treasure Island had $1 9/6 JoB but gave no points/comps when you play those machines. But you can take the free CEZ shuttle to the Rio. From there you can cross the streets to the Gold Coast (lots of good vp!) or the Palms (some decent vp). Personally, I play CEZ casinos locally and book at the Rio when I go to LV. Then, I stiff the Rio for their greedy pay-tables and play across the street at the Coast. Then after 3 days I move across the street to the Gold Coast or the Palms for a free room there. I use miles for my airfare and comp points for meals. Works out great for a 'free' trip to LV.
