This really is not difficult, especially after the initial setup. You can get the FRN card by signing up online if you don't want to stop at a Shell station.
To activate the experience, I simply notified my host, and got an email from an administrator asking when I wanted the program to start. I had my credit the next day.
Each month, on the third Wednesday, a $4 credit is added to the account. This is a one time use for up to 20 gallons, so we carry gas cans to get the full amount. If you use the credit for less than 20 gallons, it's gone, so we always max it out.
If gas costs less than $4, the balance carries over to the end of the following month. Example: in December we got the credit, and used $1.90/gallon for 20 gallons. That left a credit of $2.10 to be used by end of January. So we will repeat the process and still have credit if the prices stay low. It is a really sweet deal with current gas prices!
Additional 10 cent/gallon credits are given for earning 500 points, and are added to the account within 24 hours.
There is a thread on the harrahs yahoo group also, though I struggle to find those, especially from my iPad.

I haven't messed with the Fuel Rewards Network – didn't want something else to get frustrated about the many details – but it looks like we need a way to burn up Experience credits. Would someone with experience with this Experience (hey, that's almost funny!) be willing to explain to me how this Gas-for-a-year works. Perhaps this would best be answered in a private e-mail and if it takes a lot of words to explain perhaps we could exchange phone numbers???
