Jim-We could not agree more. Last year we went to Harrah's Tunica, but they closed that property. This year we were looking at Atlantic City because we have never been there, but $25-$50 per point makes that trip about as likely as life on the moon.
Like you, we enjoy the amenities of diamond and the variety of properties. Given the 99%+ paytables Caesars has remaining, we are still even willing to pay for the privilege of diamond status and are giving them a minimum of $150K of play though to do so. But like you, once the remaining 99.54% JOB and 99.17% BP options under a dollar are done, and once they go beyond $10 per point, we are history. It's just not THAT good, and as you say there are lots of other options out there that offer the same or better paytables with better cashback and bounceback than Caesars.
I understand they are on the verge of bankruptcy, but continuing the cutbacks that alienate the players that are left keeping them afloat isn't their way out.

A couple of months ago that was still true at Harrahs Reno. 4 machines at the single play quarter level and numerous machines scattered around the casino at the 1 dollar level. As a result, my wife and I now go to Reno instead of Las Vegas from our East coast residence when we are building Total Rewards points for our desired level, in our case Diamond. In case this post is being read by a decision maker in Caesar's Entertainment management, we will continue to do so as long as 9/6 JOB play remains available at the quarter and dollar levels. If it goes away, so will we.Also, if 9/6 JOB machines reappear at Vegas properties, we'll reappear there as well. In the meantime, when we visit Las Vegas, we'll be gambling elsewhere. We really enjoy the variety of casino locations around the country offered by Caesar's Entertainment, but when and if the time comes that 99% +, VP opportunities disappear at the quarter and dollar levels, we will disappear as well. As long as Station's, Boyd's and Coast properties (as well as several others) continue to offer superior paytables, that's where you'll find us. Jim

As of Nov. 17, NOLA was still $10 a point.
