[vpFREE] Palms scratch promo

This is for Thursdays in Sept., and only good for slots (reels and video reels), NOT Video Poker.  You get a scratch card for every jackpot over $25.  You can get as many scratches as u win, 10 a.m. To 10 p.m. thursday.  Since I play on slots sometimes, max bet at pennies, I get a lot of those 2500 coin penny jackpots ($25).

Here are my results.  Of 38 cards, 19 were $5 free play, 3 $10 play, 10 free lunch buffet, 6 dinner buffet.  <I played for about 5 hours today, keeping just about even so I kept playing and playing!>

HOWEVER - the buffets must be used within 10 days, and how many can a person eat?  Further,   My name is on the cards,  and I must accompany any guest, so I can't just hand them out to friends.  On top of that, the lunch is not valid for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.  (It also says no good for the Seafood buffet Tues., but apparently that starts at dinner, so it is okay for Tues. lunch).   The Dinner Is good for Sunday brunch (lunch!), but only M, W, Th, because it isn't good Friday, Sat. Or Tues. seafood buffet.

So the buffet part is pretty dumb. I asked a manager if there was anything they could do -- like trade up 5 cards for dinner at the coffee shop or something....but the answer was no.

So what could be a decent promo for the Palms to compete with (for example) Gold Coast's multiplier swipes promo, turns out to be kind of dumb and annoying when you get all those buffets!  (Unless perhaps you had 5 kids to take out to lunch....but of course they are in school on the days for the lunch buffet.....or maybe a senior citizen bridge group...?  I'm still trying to figure out if I can use them some way.   And of course the free buffet isn't really all that valuable to me anyway, since I'm an All Star tier member and get 75% off.....and I don't think I could take their buffet more than twice a week....)

I was thinking of going again next Thursday -- but the thought of more buffet coupons is making me shudder a bit.... (the extra $125 in free play was nice though!...but was it worth the hassle of waiting for an attendant to come 38 times?....that was probably about an hour's worth of sitting waiting at the machine and not playing....if you played two machines side by side it would be a little less boring, but possibly more expensive.....I should have brought my iPod to listen to).

By the way, the Palms is now reissuing player's cards (probably to get rid of all the people who were upgraded to All Star because they had Diamond or 7 Star or other high tier status a couple of months ago).   No changes in the Palms benefits apparently.
