Umbrella policies (usually) cover both home & auto incidents, and also (usually) require some fairly significant level of coverage on the underlying policies, say $300-500K. The umbrella coverage kicks in once those underlying amounts are reached and exceeded.

Thanks. I do have a $2 million dollar umbrella but never occurred it (may) cover auto accidents. Will check with insurance agent. American Express sold me with an 800 hotline to call and they (supposedly) take over.
