Karen,
While I wouldn't invalidate any of misscraps critiques (Bev and I share many of her concerns, and there's no question that the Breakaway is one of the most challenging ships to maneuver if you employ any type of aid), even as rather demanding travelers ourselves, we immensely enjoyed our experience on the cruise and will sign up again in a heartbeat.
We were very satisfied with our stateroom, finding it more than sufficient in all respects. We largely had a uniformly positive experience in the dining room and specialty restaurants (really enjoyed the "pub" for a lite meal and drink). However, the buffet was not to our taste and we generally avoided it. (Still, we found satisfactory options there on a day we slept in, missed the dining room breakfast and it was the only "late" option.)
The Breakaway is a lovely ship, and we enjoyed dining "al fresco" at the Italian restaurant, and again when we paid up for the seafood specialty restaurant.
The most appealing option was the opportunity to catch up with old friends from our play in AC and LV, and new friendships formed. Having enjoyed your posts for years, Karen, the trip would have been enhanced had you been aboard!
