In June I stuck $200 in a 5-play video poker machine at the Suncoast (DDB)
and cashed out $2,700 after hitting many 4 of a kinds and a royal. The
cashier refused to pay me until the slot department "checked and verified" the
machine. (apparently this is their practice for any tickets over $2,500)
I stood there for 20 minutes until finally a guy came up and signed my
ticket authorizing payout. I wasn't happy and let them know it. He said "too
bad." Meanwhile, the line at the cashier got real long and people in line
were letting them know they didn't appreciate having to wait this long to
get service. Way to piss off all your customers. I wonder if they would
have "checked and verified" the machine if I had requested it after losing
$2,700?

well, no limit other than the point at which they 86 you, which suncoast is
very, very quick to do. presumably for suspicion of being an AP, though
they won't tell you why.
not that this is a great loss. it's suncoast. get the EV while you can, and
when they boot you, breathe a sigh of relief that you can now spend your
time gambling in more pleasant surroundings.
cheers,
five
