We just took the Barcelona cruise on the Epic in June. There is one Casino on the water about 5 minutes from the port. Nothing full pay but better odds than the ship. I think there were 9/5JOB and 7/5 BP.The are about 10 machines all in one area of the Casino. The Casino is small by US standards and you must provide ID and have your picture taken to get in. I played exactly one hand. I put 100 Euro's into a triple play machine and presses max bet. Max bet turned out to be 90 Euro's. Luckily I was dealt 3OK. I didn't pull a 4OK so I hit cash out. The machine locked up and about 5 minutes later a woman came over with a little box, opened it and there was my money.
The Casino on the Epic is by far the largest and nicest of any ship we have sailed on. There is a large non smoking are and non smoking bartops that my brother loved. At the $1 level it is 8/5 JOB. I don't remember if the BP was 7/5 or 6/5. Odds are worse at the .25 level.
Instead of through the ship we booked our excursions through shoreexcursionsgroup.com. I would highly recommend them. Not only did we save approx 30% but the tour groups were a lot smaller (about 20) and more personal than the bus load tours offered by the ship. This was the first time we ever booked an excursion through anyone other than the ship and it turned out to be a good move.
One other tip. If you are planning to take a taxi to the airport from the port and get into a taxi that does not have a meter get out. We spent 6 days in Barcelona and took taxi's everywhere without a problem. At the port the taxi didn't have a meter. Asked the driver, no understand English. Get to our hotel about 10 minutes away, he presses some buttons and 38 Euro's popped up. According to the hotel clerk it should have been 10-15 Euros. I did complain but had a feeling that I wasn't getting my luggage if I didn't pay.
