Instead, I've always highly advocated people save up the proper bankroll for the games they intend to play prior to embarking upon their vp journey. That's what strong, patient players do these days.

Two different individuals decide to build a $5000 video poker bankroll. They both get paid once a week. They both decide to set aside $200 a week out of their paychecks.
Player A dutifully goes to the bank every Friday and deposits $200 into his video poker savings account with the intention of waiting until he has $5000 before playing advantage video poker.
Player B takes his $200 to the casino every Saturday and plays FPDW with %1 cashback. His plan is to play exactly 5000 games or until he loses the $200. If he loses the $200 he takes his cashback and dutifully deposits it into his video poker savings account at the bank every Monday. On days where he gets to 5000 games and makes a cashout, whatever the amount is, whether it's $50 or $100, or $200 or whatever, he takes it and the cashback and dutifully deposits it into his video poker saving account every Monday. He only plays the $200 out of his paycheck every week and never uses money from the savings account.
Who is the favorite to get to $5000 first, Player A, or Player B?
