It seems almost ludicrous that anyone should send you an email asking for you to teach them video poker, then to bankroll them when they play. I can't say that I blame you for not falling for that scam. I understand your position perfectly and agree with you 100%.

I grew up in the card rooms of Los Angeles. Nothing's changed, and nothing's ever going to change. People are deadbeats.
I wish I had a nickel for every $20 dollar bill I've "loaned" out to people in card rooms. I'd have A LOT of nickels.
Many of the people asking me for money were poker dealers. These sick fools made way more money than I did, but they were in and out of brokesville, for whatever reasons.
One funny thing about gamblers who borrow money is their convenient memory. I've asked guys about that money they owe me, and the answer goes like this.
Deadbeat: "Oh, gee, I forgot all about that."
Me: "Well, if you forgot all about that, then why do you seem to always walk on the OTHER side of the room when I'm here? Looks to me like you REMEMBERED"
Of course, it's not just people in the gambling arena who are deadbeats, deadbeats come from all walks of life, and are of all stripes. But the people who are in the card rooms, race tracks, etc., (most of my friends), are especially deadbeatish.
I'm sure Bob was more polite to the emailer than I would have been. I've learned my lessons about borrowers, and my answer would have been "Thanks for writing, get a fkg job. PS: Merry Christmas"
