So - I finally receive some free play offers in the mail from this place based on my one lone visit from several months ago when I gave them a few hours of low stakes VP action just to see what - if any - offers the play might generate. I guess it only took them about 6 months to realize that being possibly the only casino in the country without any free play or bounce back might not be the best way to attract repeat customers. (Naturally, the mailer arrived too late for the first listed redemption period, but I was willing to chalk this up to "first mailer jitters".)
Anyway, I was planning to run the play through on a quarter JOB game, but all the video poker games had a sign stuck to them that said "Points, comps, and free play cannot be *EARNED* or redeemed on this machine" (emphasis mine). From what I could see, this sticker was on every single VP machine, even the really bad ones. Wow, that's a new one for me! I know of several places where free play has to be run through on slots only (not VP), but this is the first place I have seen that says you can't even earn points or comps for playing VP. Why even have a card reader in these machines? Essentially, they are telling VP players "You'll get nothing, and LIKE it". And it's not as though they have FPDW or anything like that.
I ran my free play and left. This was on a Saturday night around 10:30 PM, and while it would be exaggerating to say that literally no one was there, no one was there! Unfortunately, this casino has absolutely nothing to draw in tourists (tourists can't even find the place), and nothing to draw in locals either. I feel sorry for anyone who left their job at one of the other local casinos to go work here, because I'm afraid they'll be looking for their old job back soon when this place closes.
Management of this casino has made so many what I would consider obvious mistakes, I wonder if it's a situation like in "The Producers", where they are intentionally trying to fail?
