Tom replied: I saw one of those once. The odds are one in (649,740 x 60), assuming
there are no extra wild cards. Tom's correct assuming you are talking about getting one of those puppies on your NEXT hand and you are counting both right-to-left and left-to-right sequentials. The 1-in-39,000,000 number rounds off the 649,740 number to 650,000 --- which is a commonly used approximation. Getting such a hand sometime in your playing career is not nearly such a big deal. Like Tom, I've also had one --- but I've played considerably more than most (probably about 25,000,000 base hands) and Tom has played considerably more than me (I can't provide a number for him with any degree of accuracy but he may well have played 25,000,000 hands or more before I played my first one). (Actually Tom said he SAW one, not that he RECEIVED one. I've probably seen ten or so dealt to others. Players tend to give a shout out when they get such a rare event.) Another factor is the racinos in New York state are notoriously non-random on the DRAW. I don't know if they are random on the DEAL. I'm never going to know from personal experience. Possibly/Probably the Indian casinos in New York (including Seneca casino mentioned) deal randomly. I don't know for sure. Bob
