If a player hopes to win, but loses and takes part in this promotion, since they were willing to lose their initial investment the first time in and did, they will most likely lose the freeplay and maybe more on this and their next visits.
If a player hopes to lose in order to get the freeplay, it is more likely they learned their lesson and might cash out with a good portion of what the freeplay rendered.
I don't see these type of offers as having any value at all. The numbers might be cranked to show an advantage, but the offer does all it can to destroy a player's main advantage - discipline.

"I'm not much for these ... loss rebate offers, because you have to hope to lose in order to get anything out of them and that's not why I go into casinos..."
I'm confused... you say a player needs to "hope to lose" to get anything out of these loss rebates. What if someone ends up losing, but was hoping to win? Will they "get anything out of them"?
