RWHANNU, I'm not really tickled to death by your comment. I've never ever exploited a malfunctioning machine. In the words of the Cincinnati Kid I don't have to cheat to win. I passed on every opportunity to cheat the casinos. Why would I jeopardize my ability to make a good living outsmarting them with legitimate strategy?
Case in point, I once stuck a $10 bill in a dollar denom advantage slot at the Riverside in Laughlin. It racked up 200 credits. Some mechanic had put a nickel bill acceptor in a dollar machine. This was before TITO. Now, a bad cheat would just empty the hopper, take a fill or two and leave the machine. A good cheat would play for the hand pays, avoiding the fills. What did I do? I called an attendent over and told her they had a problem with the machine. Someone from slot operations came out. I told him what the problem was and asked him for my $10 back. "Sure, no problem for an honest guy like you" he said.
Just because I know how it's done doesn't mean I do it. Like I said, I don't have to cheat to win.
