This was before TITO. Now, a bad cheat would just empty the hopper, take a fill or two and leave the machine. A good cheat would play for the hand pays, avoiding the fills. What did I do? I called an attendent over and told her they had a problem with the machine. Someone from slot operations came out. I told him what the problem was and asked him for my $10 back. "Sure, no problem for an honest guy like you" he said.

Hmmm. I think the definition of the words "cheat" and "legitimate"
may be rather vague. Getting $200 in credits for a $10 deposit would
be to take advantage of a mistake. Doesn't all professional gambling
do that?
