That first statement is correct--did DIAD last Wednesday at the Rio, card does expire in March 2013...between the Star Trek slots after the buffet in the morning, to the more important (and less negative expectation than I deserved, definitely),Video Poker at night, hit the magic 3,000 in a day for the fancy card. Actually went from Gold to Platinum (2,000 in a day), to Diamond inside of about 3 hours. In hindsight, it was a very, very stupid thing to do, but one hand of four deuces and a four helped even things out. At any rate, the other commenters are correct, check with a boothling before you try this--I did the night before, and was told "And your 3,000 points (worth of play) have to done steadily--(they actually said this!!)--you can't gamble for a while, then take a an hour or two off and then gamble again." (Have learned not with arguing with these people and others about things like the definition of a day, etc.). Anyhow, because the Rio was charging me 12$ a night for a room only stayed there 3 nights, hit that on my second last day, so I only visited the Diamond Lounge once, on my last night when I printed out my boarding pass. Others have said this, nice appetizers, free drinks, NFL net on TV, not bad, but definitely not worth the money I should have lost trying to chase this. Anyhow, hopefully Caesars can spring for a free room or two for me next year LOLOL!
Seriously thanks again to all the pointers/advice/information that you all have provided over the year, it definitely helped me with the journey!!!
Happy New Year!!
