LVA Question of the Day - 18 SEP 2011

Q: My husband and I are here in Las Vegas this week for our
5th anniversary (married at the Little Chapel of the
Flowers) and it has pretty much rained since we arrived on
the 10th. It's a bit scary what with flash floods and huge
lightning and all, but still an amazing display of the power
of nature. My question - is this weather normal for the
season? How often DOES it rain, and how many days in a row?
What do locals do during storms? In the northeast, we don't
really do any thing different except avoid 'puddling', not
 flash floods.
