[vpFREE] Re: Trip Report Las Vegas July/August 2011

>>>Eventually that evening I decided to return to the scene of the crime
and try to get even with the Pick'em machines at Fremont Casino. I knew a
bunch of fours-of-a-kinds and possibly even a straight flush were just around
the corner. Besides I could use all my accumulated B-Connected points to
pay for dinner.
Well things did change: they got worse and this time the Pick'em machines
ate my next $200 even more quickly (with absolutely no upward swings at all
and more of the good-for-nothing dealt pair of 7s).<<<

Sounds like we were both down there doing the same thing last weekend.
When you play Pick 'Em (PE) are you talking about the old coin droppers or
the newer Pick-A-Pair (PAP) machines over by the Keno area? (I make a
distinction because the old PE machines have got the sticker that says it's
$3/point where I think the newer PAP machines run at the rate listed on the
B-connected website of $1/point.)

My goal for last week was to do a quick trip to Vegas and put some play in
to maintain Sapphire status (mission accomplished) and use the August room
offer. (It's darn hard to expect to get to Emerald just playing quarters.)
Except for a trip out to the M Saturday morning to take a shot at a
certain bank of progressives, I concentrated all my play at the Boyd casinos
downtown.

My luck was about as poor as reported above at the Fremont early on..then
made a comeback at the PE machines Saturday afternoon. Had a terrible
downturn early Saturday evening, them made most of the weekend losses back on a
PAP machine, scoring 2 four of a kinds in one session late Saturday night.

Overall observation was that business was pretty good downtown...lots of
people out for another "Salute to the '80s" weekend.
