feed. Blogs, podcasts and other content can be set up with RSS that
then automatically push that content to users rss aggregators, such as I
Tunes, Zune, Google Reader and many more including one that can be used in
linux. What is nice about it is if you find content you like and is that
content is regularly updated or new you can stay on top of it by using these
aggregators. Wikipedia will give you a pretty good explanation of rss. I
don't have a problem manually downloading episodes it is just
more convenient for your listeners if they have an option to automatically
download your content. I run windows, mac, ios and linux and rss work in all
of them. I agree on I Tunes but due to IPod and iPads it has the largest
user base. On my windows, mac and kubuntu machines I use gpodder. It is an
excellent free open source podcatcher. On ios (iPod touch/iPad) I use
Downcast app so I can steer clear of I Tunes controlled stupidity.I haven't
yet delved into android devices but I'm sure it has rss feed readers also.I
also use Google reader mainly for blogs and news feeds but I also use it for
podcasts, not to listen to but to let me know that there is a new episode.I
subscribe to over 50 different podcasts that have new episodes each to each
week. How we communicate, exchange and transfer info is changing our worlds
and rss is great way of doing this while saving time.
