Unless you purposely desire the chance that your heart could experience a
really fast beat., be advised that the use of a phone equipped with this
type of program or app. on it is not legal in the state of Nevada. Just
this week, I have witnessed three incidents at three different casinos of
folks whipping these out while playing video poker. Here is what the
pertinent regulation states:
NRS 465.075 Use of device for calculating probabilities. It is unlawful
for any person at a licensed gaming establishment to use, or possess with
the intent to use, any device to assist:
1. In projecting the outcome of the game;
2. In keeping track of the cards played;
3. In analyzing the probability of the occurrence of an event relating
to the game; or
4. In analyzing the strategy for playing or betting to be used in the
game.
I have not seen it happen yet, but I assume that you could possibly have
your phone confiscated and/or be trespassed from a property if you are
caught using one. With the level of paranoia at some casinos here in town,
it is probably only a question of time until this happens.
