Different story this morning. I just tried to get in a game on Poker Stars. They have suspended real money services to American players. There goes my Pot-Limit Omaha Project.
Of late, whenever I have a little spare time, I've been studying PLO. My buddy Al has been coaching me and I have Jeff Hwang's book. I started at the bottom on Poker Stars, 1 cent/2 cent PLO. I would play whenever I had a spare hour or so. Thru 15 hours I was up $7.46. An earn of about 25 big blinds per hour. The object was to earn 1000 big blinds then jump up to the 2 cent/5 cent PLO. Then earn 1000 big blinds at that level and jump up to the 5 cent/10 cent, and so on up.
The way I figure it, if I can't beat the 1 cent/2 cent there is no use going any higher. I'm not in the business of gambling for kicks. I started at the bottom to go thru the learning curve. I intended to creep up the levels, having to earn 1000 big blinds at each level, until I found my level of incompetence, then back off a notch. Then analyze whether the hourly rate is worth my time.
Oh, well. We'll just have to see what develops
