I just wanted to let people know that the answer to this QOD is really not correct. Salt water pools, as mentioned in the answer, still create chlorine. This is the whole point of putting a slat system in a pool. All chlorine is created from salt through electrolysis. Salt systems just give the ability to constantly create chlorine at a much more even level. Levels can often be kept slightly lower in these systems as well.
