Greetings
Yesterday I decided to grab a bite at the beautiful Amphora Lounge at the Borgata. I had just lost for the umpteenth time and am headed for the Guiness Book Of Record. I approached the menu which is located on the casino level near the escalator. It was printed so small that I literally had to put my nose to it to see it.
I showed my card and proceeded to the chow line. As I grabbed a plate it was painfully hot. This is not the first time this has happened and I had reported it before. The cooler ones where stacked behind them. I headed for the crab cakes which were supposed to be an entree. they were about as big as a pregnant M&M. I fork lifted some broccoli and a scoop of mash potatoes and headed to my assigned seat. The previous tip was still present on the table which showed the waitress had not been there yet. The place was not that crowded and some servers and I guess bus folks were standing around gabbing.
Both the crab cakes and the broccoli were cold. I went back and grabbed some more crab cakes which had been replenished. I took one bite but had lost my appetite. I asked for the manager. He would be back in an hour I was told and there was no one else in charge.
I asked for a refund and left my phone number. He did call me in about an hour as stated. He was apologetic and said none of this should have happened. However he did not offer me any compensation for my plight except the chance to meet him the next time i ate there. That will not happen anytime soon.
