[vpFREE] advice on balancing palms comps needed

hi there,
in short, i'm trying to get an idea of how to maximize casino comp
across two players' cards at the palms.

as i dive into details, please forgive me in advance for providing what
may well be too much information ... the comp world is strange enough
that sometimes little things matter and i wanted to be sure i wasn't
missing something that would lend an obvious answer.
my girlfriend (HER card) and i (HIM card) are vegas locals and play at
the palms. we both take advantage of the majority (but not all) of
free-plays and perks that we're offered (e.g. megabucks pulls, shirts,
simon discounts, etc.).
up to the recent past, the HER card has only 25c progressive 2's wild
play. the HIM card during that time had a significant amount of play on
$1 and $2 NSUD and $1 TDB.
about four months ago, we quit playing the HIM card and played HER only
in video poker games that have a theoretical positive return for perfect
play (and for low stakes), namely: the 25c progressive 2's wild, 25c
joker wild and 25c 10/7 double bonus. i can't give you a firm coin-in
number here, but i'd say the HER card is getting about 12 hours of
medium-fast play per month.
HIM also plays poker once a month using the $25-for-$20 buy-in.

in february our mailers looked like this:
HER$50 total in free slot play (5x $10)$10 at simon$20 in food credits
at gardunos, bistro, cafe, alize et al (2x $10)2 megabucks free pulls
each MWF

HIM$60 total in free play (2x $30)$15 at simon$10 in food credits at
gardunos, et al (1x $10)1 megabucks free pulls each MWF
for the month of february, in gross terms, you'd definitely say: the
play on HER card was increased from january; the play on HIS card was
close to nil (as it had been the previous month). the only play the HIM
card had was the $60 in free play (all done on the $1 10/7 DB
progressive), and both the poker and simon coupons were redeemed. the
HER card had about 12 hours of medium-fast play (as mentioned above) and
had the simon card redeemed. both cards had some, but less than half,
of the megabucks offers used. the generic food credit coupons weren't
used on either card.

in march our mailers look like this:HER$48 total in slot play (4x $12)
{down $2 and 1 session from february}$10 at simon $20 in food credits at
gardunos, bistro, cafe, alize et al (2x $10)2 megabucks free pulls each
MWF (a guess, but probably right)
HIM$40 total in free play (2x $40) {down $20 from february}$10 at simon
{down $5 from february}$10 in food credits at gardunos, et al (1x $10)1
megabucks free pulls each MWF (a guess, almost certainly right)

my questions are these: should we be splitting some of our play time
between HIM and HER? should we both play only one card one month, then
one card the next? since the HIM card has a history of heavier play
against it, should we just leave it alone? i know there are magic
cross-over numbers that will move you from one group of comps to
another, is there anything we can/should be shooting for, or be aware
of?
(an aside that may or may not be worth noting: we prefer to use our
points as food comps, rather than free play back into the machines.
24/7 is the best reasonably-priced casino cafe in vegas. we love it.)
rather than clutter the list with a broad announcement in the future, my
sincere thanks to everyone who helps -- even if you have only a lone
datum that we may be able to work into a strategy.

PS jean, i have all your books. looking for something specific to this
case.
PPS concerning a previous topic caesars buying the palms would be
heartbreaking. i'm a diamond in the caesars chain and even so it's the
very last thing i'd like to see. the palms has: great video poker,
pearl, 24/7 cafe, rain, great music in the casino (which nearly everyone
over the age of 30 hates, but i love) and unlimited amounts of eye-candy
on friday, great music acts (saw STP on saturday -- great) and saturday
nights. ALL of this -and its inherent coolness- goes away if casears
takes over.
