Re: [vpFREE] OFF TOPIC of VP, moving to LV, need advice

Hello Sue,

You may wish to consider Sun City MacDonald Ranch in Henderson, a 55+
Community which has many homes in various sizes (1500 square feet to 2200
square feet), all one story. Prices are good right now. It's a safe community
with a golf course, clubhouse, fitness center, pool, and a modest
restaurant. Then you may wish to explore Boulder City for boarding your horse, as
they have stables and, while I am unclear on what boarding facilities are
available, you would find that Sun City MacDonald Ranch is about 17 miles
from Boulder City, and about 10 miles from the airport and the Strip, as well
as close to other casinos which have Video Poker full pay machines.
There may actually be some property allowing horses (along Racetrack Road on
the East side of Henderson) so be sure to ask a realtor about that option as
well. You will wish to interview several realtors in Henderson, but can be
sure to ask the questions about horse properties versus 55 + communities.
Boulder City would be a lovely place to live, but is a bit removed from
the casino's as it is a non-gambling community and the two casino's close to
it (Railroad Pass and Hacienda) are not known for their comps or their full
pay machines. Properties there are also more costly than in Henderson or
Las Vegas.

Good luck and if you need specific information, feel free to contact me.

Hey all you VP people out there! I am making the big move to LV in March,
currently am on a 160 acre horse ranch on the border of Mexico and Arizona
(extreme SE Arizona) and am getting run off our ranch by the drug cartels
here, they want our ranch to stash and run their drug runners back to
Mexico. 8 dead dogs and 1 dead horse later, I am coming to the city that I
love. I will be boarding my horse and need to know a good area to live, I
was thinking a 55+ community since I am 59 and don't want the bullshit from
living next to 20-somethings. Any good, secure areas that are under
$1,000.00?? Hubby in Africa on a marine base working for a contractor, will
be gone for abother 18 months, so just me, my horse and my 60# dog.
Any help will be appreciated!!
Thanks,
