I'll participate in a google-based group but not a Facebook based group.  Glad to hear that google is the likely site.  If I need to sign up in some way, please provide detailed instructions, as I don't think I've joined one before (and if I have, it's been so long I forgot how).

For people who don't like Facebook, one idea would be to join FB but do not add any friends or do anything except go to a new vpfree group on FB.  You can limit your privacy that way and avoid most FB features.  

Anyway I am very saddened by this, having been with the group in its several incarnations stemming from the Skip Hughes days.  The end of an era.
