I don't drink much ... and not at all when gambling ... so it doesn't matter to me.  But it's interesting... the only reason I can think of is that they don't want to lose bar business income.  I do wonder if they are within their lawful rights to do this, but I wouldn't be surprised if the state gave them (and perhaps all hotels?) special laws or regulations for this.

Since reopening after the COVID shutdown,  some Southern California casino hotels are now conducting luggage searches when checking into a room.  Specifically I have seen this at Pala and Sycuan.  Just curious what are they now searching for?
