We stayed 4 nights at 4Q, playing downtown at Fremont, Binions, and the California. Living in San Diego where the casinos opened in late May, we were already acclimated to the new environment. 4Q and Binions were the only ones that didn't check temps for players. They do check hotel guests at check in, but nothing after that. Of course, I don't have much confidence in the methods used by the other casinos and the checks on Fremont Street. At the D, where I didn't play but looked at the new upstairs layout, they used a device that checked temp by scanning my wrist. It came in at 93 degrees, suggesting I was close to hypothermia, but feeling great. Lisa and I will both be 65 in a few months, and we take medication for blood pressure. She has a long history of pneumonia, but nothing since she had the pneumonia shots 10 years ago or so. We try to be careful, wearing a mask, keeping social distance as much as possible, and frequent hand washing and sanitizing. Since this started, I continue to believe we'll all eventually be exposed, but I refuse to live in fear of this or anything else. It's a new adventure for us old folks.
We had great fun, but lost money. We've don't great in California since they reopened, so we can easily sustain the LV loss. Doesn't hurt to have hit a $ progressive Royal at Pala this morning. I hope to return to LV about once a month, hopefully with Lisa.
After check in, Lisa got extra towels, Keurig cups, etc, from housekeeping. Try to remember these folks are getting far less tips since they can't clean until checkout. Lisa tipped when she got these items and again at checkout.
Palace bar at 4Q is closed, but every other machine is turned on. There were always machines available to play, and the cocktail waitress came by with coffee, Crystal Geyser, etc., often enough. Ate at Hugo's, Magnolias, and Chicago Brewing. Salad cart at Hugo's has interesting plexiglass added. No VP changes from the database observed. Look forward to MSS reopening. On the way to downtown from SD, played an hour at GVR in non-smoking on 99.8% machines.
