Re: [vpFREE] xVP - any hotel changes?

I was at Santa Fe Station the other morning. There is little, or no, enforcement. People get them upon entry, and promptly lower or remove them

Funny...I thought that mandatory meant 100 %.

That's one of several reasons I'm passing on casinos for now.

Thanks, Harry, and others who are providing details.  Still contemplating my first return to Vegas, but I know for sure I would have caved first on the coffee run!

Switched to Harrah's Lake Tahoe last night (fwiw, Harvey's is closed, incl casino floor, but opens tomorrow).

Thermal imagine camera at check-in which was a hit-and-miss experience (I had to pass it 3x, Bev had too much hair covering her face, so they resorted to a handheld device.)

No coffee in the room this am (as you would expect).  I don't image Starbucks will be free (when Tunica Horseshoe decided to eliminate the housekeeping fuss of room coffeemakers, they at least provided two Starbucks coupons at check-in).  Bev and I appear to be in a passive-aggressive stalemate, waiting to see who's the most desperate to go down and retrieve coffee ;)  (In my lame "defense", while she enjoyed 10 hours of sleep last night, I foolishly caffeinated up late afternoon and didn't bed down until 3:30a.)

Face mask compliance was strong in the casino (est 80%).  Signage at the entrance to the hotel from self-parking stated they were mandatory and that complimentary masks were available.  Saw one guest twiddling a mask in his hands who was approached by security and told it must be actively worn.  Still, late last night witnessed a posse of six 20-somethings weaving their way through the casino, all sans mask.

Slot machines weren't being proactively wiped down the sanitizer, from what I observed (unlike at Eldorado).  Foam sanitizer dispensers have been installed sporadically in the casino, but I didn't observe any stations dispensing sanitizer wipes (again, unlike Eldorado, which had pop-up with generously sized wipes).

We were at Paris for 3 days earlier this week.  Temp check at check-in.  Masks being handed out everywhere.  No maid service, but we were able to get some extra towels from maid we saw on our floor.

Food options were very limited.    JJ's Boulangerie open 24 hours, but menu didn't change. Pizza did not look good, but sandwiches were OK.  Le Creperie and a couple of others only open for breakfast to noon (we like to sleep in!).  Had great burgers at Beer Park on roof in shaded & misted open air, but RC cost is two to one.  Had a $10 credit per day at JJ's as the Laurel Lounge was closed plus could get 4 drinks per day at bars.

We did like that many slot machine banks were set up distanced.  Buckets of sanitizer wipes were available everywhere to wipe down your machine.

I am at Flamingo now. No maid service. Temperature check before checking in. Venetian and GVR also require temp check before entry to casino.

Harry's estimate on masks about right. Very busy at most places we have been. GVR probably most quiet. Downtown was crowded. 3 players max at most table games makes it hard to find a seat at times. Most machines on, but limited chairs at Caesars properties.

Oh- and no watching table games. Flamingo has been too strick on that but maybe it's Gaming keeping an eye on them. If I am 6' from a table with a mask on why can't I watch my friends play while I wait for a seat? And most places are strict about telling people to wear masks.

It is definitely a different experience.

FYI and thanks, Lee.

Wondering what, if any, changes anyone has seen within the hotel rooms in Vegas casinos.
