Re: [vpFREE] LVRJ: Caesars properties offer incentives to get people to wear masks

Pat,

I highly respect your posts, so I'll give you credit for preceding the comment with "supposedly" ;)

Please understand that the most critical role a mask serves (cloth, or otherwise) is in containing your own saliva spray.  It's significant protection that you can extend to others in your immediate area in the event that you should contract COVID-19 (and possibly be asymptomatic/pre-symptomatic).

Appropriate distancing and frequent hand washing are your two best bets when it comes to your own protection.

As far as CO2 buildup, I can only imagine that this would be a problem to a degree that was health threatening if you also employed a plastic bag as protection.

Use of N95 masks have been discouraged for fear of professional use shortage.  I imagine, if you have a few on hand from a home project (as we do) there's no foul in their use.  Interestingly, when it comes to wearing a cloth mask vs a surgical mask, one study suggests that a cloth mask affords better protection to others:  https://tinyurl.com/y8vlavrw

FWIW, I've opted for a cloth mask when out in public, preferring the benefit of added breathability and comfort.

Supposedly cloth masks offer no protection and is detrimental to the wearer because of CO2 buildup.

We'll see how stupid it is when we have to shut all of the casinos down again to stop the spread of Covid-19 due to people to selfish to wear a mask.  This is not about politics.  This is about common sense.  The casinos know it.  Shame Neil can't see it.
