This may not be for you but when we retired we purchased a motorhome and have spent several winters in Las Vegas. We stayed at Sam's Town RV park (now a KOA) for two or three months at a time. Most of the time the casino picked up the camping fee and we never paid for a single meal. We used the Sam's Town shuttle bus to visit the strip and downtown. We are Diamond at Harrah's and usually hit Emerald at Sam's (before they changed) so had plenty of dining choices all over town. Cheap living at its best.
This option would also get you out of the Las Vegas heat in the summer time.
