Machines with multiple games, like Game Kings, have long had the
capability of having the theo set separately for each game. However, to
accomplish this, older software systems required techs to manually set
the theo on each machine for each game for each denomination. A lot of
work. On a typical Game King, that might require the tech to make
something like 110 separate settings! The alternative was to set a
machine theo--one theo for every game on the machine. Newer software
systems allow the game theo settings to be done once, on one machine,
and then to be copied over in an automated way to other machines. As a
result, in recent years many casinos have switched from a machine theo
system to a game theo system.
