Hey there, Jeep - here are a couple suggestions. I've been taken to both by friends of mine who are locals & had very enjoyable experiences. Springs Preserve is actually quite large and, as well as special exhibits, has beauriful gardens, as well as a large gallery offering a walth-through the history of Las Vegas. Well worth the admission price.
