We once did a full day trip to Death Valley and it was great.
If you are interested in birds, the Henderson Bird Sanctuary (http://www.cityofhenderson.com/henderson-happenings/facilities/henderson-bird-viewing-preserve) is a great place to visit. The area is the output of the sewage treatment facility. There is no odor and it can be filled with waterfowl – especially during migration season.
Another good place to see birds or just take a nice walk is the Las Vegas Wash at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las_Vegas_Wash
Chinatown is an interesting place to walk around.
If you are looking for international food items you can go to the International Marketplace at 5000 S. Decatur

Subject: [vpFREE] Tourist things to do? In Vegas or reasonable driving distance?
Hi all,
Last visit stayed Red Rock. Decided to go Red Rock park. Another time did Dam for about 10th time.
I'm wondering what u guys might suggest, like downtown etc. Interesting places to see....
I have always wanted to drive to Grand Canyon, but didn't. Flew over many times. How about Death Valley?
We've gone to Laughlin, Mesquite, Mt Morris, but so many years ago. Used to base out of Vegas to visit friends in Calif. Stayed in aunts house in high desert and shoulda went to Roy Rogers place. Even Disney Land and Phoenix driving out of Vegas. Of course staying over nite when miles away.
Interested in any crazy ideas.
Hope the 4th brought you all happy times today.......Cheers....Jeep
